Course Description:

Distance:  10k (approximate)

This course is the most unique (and longest) we've ever designed.  Like two races in one, the first 5 km will be run on the beautifully groomed Nordic network with a rolling mix of terrain.  After running through a tunnel under Route 16, competitors will challenge the second 5 km which will consist of virgin snowshoe singletrack.  Expect most of the climbing in this 'back 5 km' as racers will 'shoe the Glen's Aqueduct Loop along the 19-Mile Brook.
In 2011, the Miles for Miracles Boston Marathon® team raised more than 1.3 million for Children's Hospital Boston.  This year they intend to raise more.  Our acidotic RACING teammate Timmy Lindsey has a personal connection with Children's and he'll live out a dream this coming April by doing two things; 1.)  raise money for the place that has given his family so much and 2.)  run the Boston Marathon.  But he needs our help.  As a member of the Miles for Miracles Boston Marathon® team he has an individual fundraising goal.  We at aR are committed to helping him meet and exceed that goal by donating a portion of the proceeds from the Granite State Snowshoe Championships to his fundraising efforts.  The Lindsey family story is one of amazing perseverance.  Here's just an part of that story;

"It has been a long road to get to this point in my life.  I would have never dreamed that I would be able to run in the Boston Marathon.  Over the past few years my life has changed dramatically.  On February 28, 2007, finally fed up with my weight and how it was affecting my health and my life I built up the courage to walk into Weight Watchers in Dover, NH.  Not knowing how much exactly I weighed because my bathroom scale stopped at 330 lbs. I was guessing probably 350 lbs give or take an ounce.  Well, I was 378.8 lbs and horrified as you might imagine.  Thankfully, I never saw that number again during my weight loss journey.  I followed my new eating plan and incorporated exercise along the way to losing 210 lbs.  After reaching my weight loss goal of 168 lbs in April of 2008 I began to actually run.

During my weight loss we received two life changing diagnosis for our youngest son Cameron.  In March of 2008 he was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes and in June of that year Autism.  We were fortunate to live close enough to Children's that it was a treatment option for Cameron.  He is a patient at this amazing facility for both Neurology and Endocrinology."
