"It's not where you finish, it's how you finish that counts."
Editor's Note: Giving nothing less than everything she has, Liz is the embodiment of what it means to RACE acidotic. As a mother, wife, and endurance athlete she has struck a impressive balance between family, work, and play and is instilling in her children the value of working hard and playing harder. We're pleased for you to learn more about this incredible women. Here's her story told in her own words;
I live in beautiful Merrimack, NH with my husband (aR member Ted Hall), my 2 kids (Teddy,8 and Betty,6) and our new puppy Daisy. I work for Fidelity as a Pension Actuary (don't ask..I am a math nerd). In my spare time, I'm a triathlete,

runner, snowshoe racer (ok WAS a snowshoe racer but this year I will be back!), cyclocross addict, and general endurance sport nut. How did I get here??! Growing up, I was more focused on academics than sports (violin player and captain of the Math team..need I say more?). My family moved around the east coast about every two years, mostly in the south, but I settled on college in the northeast and attended MIT. My entry into athletics came when I joined the crew team for a few years and then decided to join the MIT swim team - really for the trip to Aruba with my swimming friends for winter training. I was an OK swimmer, but got better. I started running as well; running the Boston Marathon bandit in 1995. I finished in 4 hours and loved every second!
Triathlon is just one of the endurance sports you'll find this mother of two racing.

After college, I moved to Chicago for a job and kept running. I met Ted while visiting friends in Boston, made him move to Chicago, and he convinced me to try a triathlon in 1997. We bought our first road bikes, did out first race in Galena, IL in May 1997, and were HOOKED! Since then we've raced every season in every distance from sprint distance to Ironmans. All the while, I earned my Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries after 5 years of grueling exams, maintained a full-time job, had 2 kids and relocated to Merrimack, Ted's home town, to work for Fidelity. Although a lot to balance, training and racing helped me be better at everything I do; keeping me healthy and SANE through it all!
A couple of years ago, Ted and I decided to try our hand at snowshoe racing and raced our first race at the "Pooh Hill" race up at King Pine ski area. Not only did I cross the line thinking that was one of the hardest things I'd ever done (so
of course wanted to do more), but we also joined up with the acidotic RACING team through our friend Steve Wolfe. Over the years, I've loved to be part of this team. The spirit of aR encompasses my approach to life. Get outside, dare mighty things and do your best at everything you do. This is the example we are setting for our children and how I am able to balance a successful career with a happy healthy family who love to ride, run, swim, hike, ski - you name it! I hope this window into my life helps you on your journey to dare mighty things. I wish you the best in health for 2012!
