UPDATE (02/15/2012): It is with great sadness that I announce that the 2012 Paws 4A Cause has been canceled due to lack of snow. With the impending rain and cold overnight temperatures the trails may be very icy and hazardous for man or beast. We will hope for a better winter in 2013. -Chris J. Dunn
Event Details
Two of our greatest passions are being in the outdoors and the love of animals. It is therefore, with a tremendous amount of joy, that we bring you Paws 4 A Cause on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the trail network at Kingman Farm. All of the proceeds from this guided snowshoe trek for dogs and their owners will go directly to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
All interested dogs and their owners will meet in the Madbury Town Hall parking lot shortly before noon. There is no "entry fee", instead we ask only that you give a donation. Checks should be made payable to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society and will be collected before the trek. This is a snowshoe trek and you are encouraged to wear snowshoes as some of the trek may be in freshly set snowshoe tracks. Some initial instructions will be given before the guided trek begins at noon. Owners are asked to keep their dog(s) on leashes and as always, good behavior and etiquette is greatly appreciated. This includes playing well with others and carrying a "doggie bag". Some of the route we will trek will be used later that evening for our nighttime snowshoe race, the Kingman Farm Moonlight Snowshoe presented by Petzl and I know the snowshoers appreciate a few less "obstacles" to negotiate.
The guided trek will follow the trail network at Kingman Farm and be approximately 1 mile. We expect the trek to last no more than a hour. Light refreshments and (dog) cookies will be served after the trek.
Come out and join us on the 19th for a great time in the outdoors with your dog and help us to raise money for the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
